This Great Salvation: Foundations of the Faith

January 27, 2020 by W. J. Ern Baxter (1914-1993)

This Great Salvation: Foundations of the Faith

The relativistic individualism of an experience-driven culture has tragically produced an experience-driven Christianity that elevates spiritual experience over sound doctrine, opening up God's people to a multitude of deceptions. While many Christians are concerned, and rightly so, about the marginalisation of Christianity from the public square, far more insidious and urgent … [Read more...]

The Word & The Spirit: Releasing the Explosive Power of the Gospel

The Word & The Spirit: Releasing the Explosive Power of the Gospel

Ern addresses the inseparable nature of the Word and Spirit as foundational to God’s creation order. Exploring the necessary balance between charismatic experience and biblical doctrine for the advance of the gospel, he exposes how Satan's strategy down throughout history has been to keep the Word and the Spirit separated, resulting in either dry intellectualism or mindless … [Read more...]

The Unavoidable God: Psalm 139

October 20, 2018 by W. J. Ern Baxter (1914-1993)

The Unavoidable God: Psalm 139

Said by some to be the most sublime of the Psalms, Psalm 139 is a celebration of God's transcendence and omniscience that elicits true humility and worship in view of man's total dependence on God. Illuminating the depth of meaning in this Psalm, Ern delivers a spiritually penetrating message that gives insight into the unavoidability of God for all people, drawing out its … [Read more...]

Revelation & the Inescapable God: Foundations in Christian Worldview

The Inescapable God “… we have made lies our refuge, and in falsehood we have taken shelter” Isa 28:15 –   Part 3 of 3   – An Inescapable Revelation The fact of creation declares that all people – every nation, race, age and gender – are unceasingly face to face with the living God. This however raises an important question. If God’s revelation is inescapably clear … [Read more...]

The Pauline Correspondence: Its Mode & Message

The Pauline Correspondence: Its Mode & Message

Part 3 of 3 In Parts 1 & 2 we discovered that Paul's call and commission, as the pioneer apostle to the Gentiles, was unique and normative for the church universally. We will now explore these implications for the apostolic mode and message. Mode As the pioneer – and thus proto-type – apostle to the Gentiles Paul modelled God's strategy for the expansion of the Gospel … [Read more...]

The Message

21st century Western man is now living in the moral debris of the 20th century experiment—the experiment of messianic statism – Marxist, Fascist, and now secular Humanist – with its rejection of God in Christ as the genius of the Western cultural heritage. Spiritually, morally, and financially bankrupt the West has now exhausted its options.

Our message despite the historic failure of humanity, including the church, is one of certainty and hope. God has a purpose for history and for nations—for their governance, prosperity, and peace. God’s plan for the planet is more than adequate for its crisis. Lifemessenger is committed to speaking a prophetically pertinent word to church and culture.
