Ern Baxter MP3 Teaching Series:
The Gospel of the Garden Part 1
One of the most devastating strategies in our time against the victory of the Gospel is the dualistic view of man’s salvation in escape from this world, postponing victory to a future heavenly realm. Nevertheless, counter to this, there is a recovery underway to reclaim God’s original world purpose and the victory of the Gospel in history.
This teaching series contributes substantially to this recovery. Returning to man’s origins, The Gospel of the Garden establishes God’s original intention for man – the Gospel – in the Garden before tracing the biblical continuity of this purpose through all God’s subsequent dealings with man in history. What is this purpose?
The Gospel of the Land Part 2
Having begun with Adam in the Garden, the second part of this series explores the continuation of God’s original purpose through Abraham and his seed. Just as Adam was to be a source of blessing for the entire earth, exporting the Edenic rule of God throughout the world, so also Abraham was purposed to be a source of blessing to the nations.
‘The Gospel of the Land’ unpacks the continuity of God’s Edenic design in the land of Canaan, as the place of God’s throne, to be a centre of divine instruction out of which God’s life and government proceeds to the whole earth.
The Gospel of the Kingdom Part 3
In the third and final part of this series, man’s original purpose and commission, given to Adam and continued through Abraham and his seed, is now realised in Christ and his redemptive work.
‘The Gospel of the Kingdom’ establishes Christ’s legal victory over sin and death in his first coming as the means by which God continues his original purpose for man in the world. As the progenitor of a new redeemed human race, Christ reinstates man in his original commission, re-commissioning him to extend the wisdom and ways of God across the earth (Matt 28:18-19). In explicating this commission, both the victory of the Gospel and the true magnitude of the calling and destiny of the redeemed people in history are elucidated.
