God's Community

This teaching stream explores the nature of the ecclesia (church) as a Covenant Community.

Because the triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – are within themselves a covenantal community, and because we are made in his image, the ground for all human community is found in him—we are hardwired for it. Significantly, the Godhead is a relational unity-in-diversity. This demands a re-formation from institutional to relational and denominational to apostolical paradigms of church—a return to ‘apostolic architecture’.

OUT OF THE BOAT! Jesus and the Contemporary Church

OUT OF THE BOAT! Jesus and the Contemporary Church

… they thought he was a ghost. Mark 6:49 Jesus, teaching on the mount they knew. Jesus, feeding the five-thousand, and even raising the dead, they knew! But what was this new and strange manifestation? The disciples had been directed by Jesus to get into a boat and cross the lake to Bethsaida. When evening came a storm had blown up and they were ‘straining’ on the oars as … [Read more...]

Anointing the New Order

Anointing the New Order

How long will you mourn for Saul...Fill your horn with oil and be on your way ... 1 Samuel 16:1 Many are currently networking the old instead of anointing the new. Let me explain: because of his unbroken inner life the kingdom had just been taken from Saul and promised to one better than he—to David (1 Sam 15:28). His days on the throne were now numbered. But Samuel mourns … [Read more...]

The Cry of the New Order

Hear, O Lord ... listen to my cry. Psalm 17:1 A PSALM OF DAVID David is the typical representative of the new kingdom order. And as such the cry of this psalm is the cry of this new order—the cry of a proven heart. In it, Saul is pursuing David, the man after the heart of God (Acts 13:22; 1 Sam 13:14). From the heights of the first anointing in Bethlehem and victory over … [Read more...]

Forerunners of the New Order

Forerunners of the New Order

These were the men who came to David at Ziklag, while he was banished from the presence of Saul ... warriors who helped him in battle. 1 Chronicles 12:1 Before every historic visitation of the Spirit God has sent forerunners. John the Baptist set the pattern; as a voice crying in the wilderness he prepared the way for the ministry of Christ (Mtt 3:3). Likewise, John Wycliffe … [Read more...]

The Corporate Christ

The Corporate Christ

... the church, which is his body the fullness of him …   Ephesians 1:23 Unity is not what we think it is! And, for that matter, neither is the church. We think that if we have cooperation between the churches we have unity. Or, if we tolerate the differences of the other group we are making great strides. But the unity of the Spirit is so much more than mere cooperation or … [Read more...]

The Message

21st century Western man is now living in the moral debris of the 20th century experiment—the experiment of messianic statism – Marxist, Fascist, and now secular Humanist – with its rejection of God in Christ as the genius of the Western cultural heritage. Spiritually, morally, and financially bankrupt the West has now exhausted its options.

Our message despite the historic failure of humanity, including the church, is one of certainty and hope. God has a purpose for history and for nations—for their governance, prosperity, and peace. God’s plan for the planet is more than adequate for its crisis. Lifemessenger is committed to speaking a prophetically pertinent word to church and culture.
