Cultural Reformation

God’s government in Christ demands and brings Cultural Reformation.

This teaching stream will explore the Gospel’s cultural engagement. It will explain how the Gospel dismantles idolatrous belief systems and gradually reforms societal structures and institutions. The Gospel has historically provided the context for the development of a high culture: law and justice, political freedom, science, education, and the arts.

What We Are Doing & Why

What We Are Doing & Why

Our Call At the age of 18, having been arrested by the call of God, I found myself in Bible School in Sydney. And, through the laying on of hands by the prophetic presbytery, God spoke to me confirming that call: For behold you shall be a teacher of the Word and you shall know loneliness and narrowness as I make demands upon you says the Lord. Behold you shall teach from the … [Read more...]

Romans: Kingdom through Covenant, Part 1

The question will be asked, why another commentary on Romans? First, because Romans provides the ABC's of the Gospel, it is Christianity 101. From the early church to the present day, it has been recognised as the foundational teaching of Christianity, providing the Bible's most complete statement concerning God's purpose for humankind, its fall from that purpose, and his … [Read more...]

The Gospel & Cultural Transformation: Natural Law or God’s Law?

The current emphasis on the Gospel's power to renew cities and culture is a great positive. Nevertheless, it provokes an important question. Let us assume that city and cultural renewal gain traction – which, increasingly, they will – the next question is how do we determine the ethics and laws by which a renewed and just society should be governed. As a Christian you … [Read more...]

What is Christian Reconstruction: Is it a Blueprint for the Future of Church & Culture?

The Christian Reconstruction movement emerged in the USA during the 1960-80's, exercising influence primarily across the Reformed Calvinistic streams of Protestant evangelicalism, but also significant sectors of the Charismatic movement. Through the writings of Rousas Rushdoony, Gary North, and Greg Bahnsen et al, it was a strategic influence in the rise of the conservative … [Read more...]

A Biblical View of Church and State: Implications for Same-Sex Marriage

In understanding the biblical role of church and state – and its implications for homosexuality – we must first understand the transformational nature of God’s kingdom. Christ is not only “head over all things to the church” (Eph 1:22), but also “ruler of kings on earth” (Rev 1:5). Through Christ’s resurrection and ascension he has been given “all authority in heaven and on … [Read more...]

The Message

21st century Western man is now living in the moral debris of the 20th century experiment—the experiment of messianic statism – Marxist, Fascist, and now secular Humanist – with its rejection of God in Christ as the genius of the Western cultural heritage. Spiritually, morally, and financially bankrupt the West has now exhausted its options.

Our message despite the historic failure of humanity, including the church, is one of certainty and hope. God has a purpose for history and for nations—for their governance, prosperity, and peace. God’s plan for the planet is more than adequate for its crisis. Lifemessenger is committed to speaking a prophetically pertinent word to church and culture.
