God's Community

This teaching stream explores the nature of the ecclesia (church) as a Covenant Community.

Because the triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – are within themselves a covenantal community, and because we are made in his image, the ground for all human community is found in him—we are hardwired for it. Significantly, the Godhead is a relational unity-in-diversity. This demands a re-formation from institutional to relational and denominational to apostolical paradigms of church—a return to ‘apostolic architecture’.

The Christian in the World

The Christian in the World

Ern Baxter MP3 Teaching Series Mankind in Crisis: Part 1 Why is our world in crisis? How is the Christian to understand the tension between being in the world but not of the world? And what is the 'world'? If God so loves the world that he gave his own Son for it, what does it mean for the Christian to not love the world? Ern unpacks this paradox, explaining: The world we … [Read more...]

Humility of Heart: Restoring the Glory of God

Humility of Heart: Restoring the Glory of God

God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble. James 4:6 NASB He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8 NKJV This kind of humility is to occur: Not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and … [Read more...]

Apostolic Architecture: God’s Design for His People

Paul, referring to the church in Corinth as “God’s building”, likened himself – as an apostle – to a “skilled master builder” (2 Cor 3:10). The Greek word for “master builder” is architekton, reflecting that the builder in the Greco-Roman world functioned as both architect and builder, Paul functioning as both. Not only was he an apostle, but more significantly the apostle to … [Read more...]

Covenant Community

Covenant Community

The church is a Covenant Community. God’s nature, as the God of love, is demonstrated through covenant relationships. With the triune God as the ground of all community, Christ’s high priestly prayer “that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me” (Jn 17:21) shows that … [Read more...]

What is the New Reformation?

What is the New Reformation?

The Reformation of the 1500s was a watershed of gargantuan proportions, reshaping the religious and geo-political landscape of Europe and indeed the world to this day, nonetheless, it was only the beginning—reformation is still in process and coming to maturity. The historic Reformation recovered the doctrine of salvation (soteriology) through Justification by Faith, but … [Read more...]

The Message

21st century Western man is now living in the moral debris of the 20th century experiment—the experiment of messianic statism – Marxist, Fascist, and now secular Humanist – with its rejection of God in Christ as the genius of the Western cultural heritage. Spiritually, morally, and financially bankrupt the West has now exhausted its options.

Our message despite the historic failure of humanity, including the church, is one of certainty and hope. God has a purpose for history and for nations—for their governance, prosperity, and peace. God’s plan for the planet is more than adequate for its crisis. Lifemessenger is committed to speaking a prophetically pertinent word to church and culture.
