God's Purpose

This teaching stream explores God’s Purpose in time-space history.

Humankind dreams of a better world, but how can that happen? God has a plan for human flourishing – a new world here and now – and it's revealed in the person of Jesus Christ and his Gospel. It is explicated through the biblical motif of 'Kingdom & Covenant'—God's Government and its Constitution as the genius of a New World Order.

The World of the Resurrection

April 16, 2017 by David Orton

The World of the Resurrection

For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. Romans 8:19 The resurrection of Christ signals the transformation of the cosmos – this physical world – in time and space, in history. From chapter 1 of his epistle to the Romans Paul progressively explicates the Gospel as God's solution to the disruption of the cosmos caused by human rebellion, … [Read more...]

Christ’s Advent: The Climax and Conflict of History

— CHRIST OR CAESAR — But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law Galatians 4:4 He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him 10 with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the … [Read more...]

Christianity in Crisis: A Personal Journey

Every good business does a stocktake towards the end of the financial year to ascertain their position. We have been doing the same, except our stock is not physical product—it’s the spiritual riches that God has entrusted to us. After more than 45 years of Christian experience and service we find ourselves reviewing and evaluating, not only our personal journey, but also the … [Read more...]

Hear the Howl: The Existential Cry of this Age

Hear the Howl: The Existential Cry of this Age

Howl verb \’hau(-e)l\ : to cry out loudly and without restraint under strong impulse  (as pain, grief, or amusement). The 21st century person faces an existential crisis. For 150 years the Darwinist narrative that human life is a product of a mindless, unguided process – a fortuitous cosmic accident – with no ultimate meaning, value or purpose, has been disseminated in … [Read more...]

Cultural Reformation

Cultural Reformation

God’s government in Christ demands and brings Cultural Reformation. This teaching stream explains the Gospel’s cultural engagement; how the Gospel dismantles idolatrous belief systems and gradually reforms societal structures and institutions. Because the infinite creator-God is the ground of human rationality and creativity, the Gospel has historically provided the context … [Read more...]

The Message

21st century Western man is now living in the moral debris of the 20th century experiment—the experiment of messianic statism – Marxist, Fascist, and now secular Humanist – with its rejection of God in Christ as the genius of the Western cultural heritage. Spiritually, morally, and financially bankrupt the West has now exhausted its options.

Our message despite the historic failure of humanity, including the church, is one of certainty and hope. God has a purpose for history and for nations—for their governance, prosperity, and peace. God’s plan for the planet is more than adequate for its crisis. Lifemessenger is committed to speaking a prophetically pertinent word to church and culture.
