God's Ways

This teaching stream explores walking in God’s Ways, as a Christian believer, but also as a society.

What are God’s ways? Certainly not ours as we pride oursleves on doing it "my way", and this is despite news media daily broadcasting the result—accelerating societal breakdown. God’s ways are therefore not only personal, but societal and ethical; they are the knowledge of God and his law for all humankind practically applied; they are wisdom for living.

God’s ways therefore involve:

5 Books to Recover the Priority of Prayer in an Age of Pragmatism

5 Books to Recover the Priority of Prayer in an Age of Pragmatism

In an age of distraction, governed by the pragmatic principle 'whatever works is right', what place does prayer have in our personal and church life? Is it really that important? Shouldn't we just get on with the 'real' work of the church; whether in personal and familial living, church equipping and programming, or cultural engagement and transformation? Luther once said: … [Read more...]

5 Books for Faithful Biblical Sexuality in the Midst of Sexual Chaos

5 Books for Faithful Biblical Sexuality in the Midst of Sexual Chaos

We live in an unprecedented time of sexual chaos, promoted and celebrated not only in the surrounding culture but also, tragically, in the church. In the name of liberation the sexual revolution advances the deconstruction of the family, including no-fault divorce, pre-marital sex, abortion as contraception and the sexualisation of children, and the deregulation of sexual … [Read more...]

The Word & The Spirit: Releasing the Explosive Power of the Gospel

The Word & The Spirit: Releasing the Explosive Power of the Gospel

Ern addresses the inseparable nature of the Word and Spirit as foundational to God’s creation order. Exploring the necessary balance between charismatic experience and biblical doctrine for the advance of the gospel, he exposes how Satan's strategy down throughout history has been to keep the Word and the Spirit separated, resulting in either dry intellectualism or mindless … [Read more...]

A Processive Faith: 4 Key Ingredients to Success

October 27, 2018 by W. J. Ern Baxter (1914-1993)

A Processive Faith: 4 Key Ingredients to Success

Teaching from Hebrews 12:1-15, Ern outlines 4 key ingredients to a successful walk of faith, illustrating the processive nature and necessity of faith. With pathos and humour, he illuminates the sovereign dealings of God in the totality of our lives – the tribulations and the triumphs – that are purposed to bring us to maturity.   … [Read more...]

What is Christianity? 6 Distinctives of Christian Belief

September 9, 2018 by W. J. Ern Baxter (1914-1993)

What is Christianity? 6 Distinctives of Christian Belief

Since the so-called 'Enlightenment' the church has had a tendency to err to pietism, on the one hand, restricting the gospel to personal salvation while surrendering the world to Satan, and to liberalism on the other hand, making the gospel socially applicable while thoroughly naturalistic in character. Speaking out of a concern for the true nature of church, in light of the … [Read more...]

The Message

21st century Western man is now living in the moral debris of the 20th century experiment—the experiment of messianic statism – Marxist, Fascist, and now secular Humanist – with its rejection of God in Christ as the genius of the Western cultural heritage. Spiritually, morally, and financially bankrupt the West has now exhausted its options.

Our message despite the historic failure of humanity, including the church, is one of certainty and hope. God has a purpose for history and for nations—for their governance, prosperity, and peace. God’s plan for the planet is more than adequate for its crisis. Lifemessenger is committed to speaking a prophetically pertinent word to church and culture.
