God's Ways

This teaching stream explores walking in God’s Ways, as a Christian believer, but also as a society.

What are God’s ways? Certainly not ours as we pride oursleves on doing it "my way", and this is despite news media daily broadcasting the result—accelerating societal breakdown. God’s ways are therefore not only personal, but societal and ethical; they are the knowledge of God and his law for all humankind practically applied; they are wisdom for living.

God’s ways therefore involve:

  • Social Ethics
  • Path to Maturity

Radical Witness in Hostile Times: A Eucharistic Prayer

Radical Witness in Hostile Times: A Eucharistic Prayer

“For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you  proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes” 1 Corinthians 11:26 This Easter we consider the radical nature of this covenantal meal, particularly in a culture that is increasingly hostile to the Christian witness. Even though many national governments have decreed "lock-down" because of COVID-19, the kingdom of God is … [Read more...]

Cultural Apostasy: The Coronavirus in Context

You may well be asking, “Where is God in the current Coronavirus outbreak?” How do we understand it and respond in this moment of crisis? First, we must establish that God is good. He is not the author of evil and tempts no one: Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. James 1:13 Second, … [Read more...]

Romans: The Problem of the Law, Part 5c

EXPOSITION: Chapter 7:1-25 Before he can unpack the full cosmic purpose of the Gospel in ch. 8, Paul continues his solution to the dual problem of sin and the law. Having addressed sin in ch. 6, he now focusses on the law, although, he has already introduced its solution in 6:14, sowing the seed that we are no longer “under law but under grace”, before diverting to his … [Read more...]

God’s Beautiful Plan

July 17, 2019 by W. J. Ern Baxter (1914-1993)

God’s Beautiful Plan

In the face of the ugliness of a sin ravaged world, mired in wars and bloodshed, despair and disease, brokenness and corruption, Ern illuminates the beauty of God’s plan. This plan, purposed before time, began in Eden, continued in Canaan, and was fulfilled in the coming of Christ. With the inauguration of Christ’s kingdom on earth through his atoning work, God’s Spirit-filled … [Read more...]

Romans: The Problem of Sin, Part 5b

Romans: The Problem of Sin, Part 5b

EXPOSITION: Chapter 6:1-23 The Definition of Sanctification The problem of sin in relation to the Christian life is generally termed “sanctification” with the term found only twice in this epistle, here in ch.6 in v. 19, 22. The Greek word hagiasmos means consecration, purification; from hagiadzo – to make holy, purify, or consecrate, which is from hagios meaning sacred or … [Read more...]

The Message

21st century Western man is now living in the moral debris of the 20th century experiment—the experiment of messianic statism – Marxist, Fascist, and now secular Humanist – with its rejection of God in Christ as the genius of the Western cultural heritage. Spiritually, morally, and financially bankrupt the West has now exhausted its options.

Our message despite the historic failure of humanity, including the church, is one of certainty and hope. God has a purpose for history and for nations—for their governance, prosperity, and peace. God’s plan for the planet is more than adequate for its crisis. Lifemessenger is committed to speaking a prophetically pertinent word to church and culture.
